PageRank

PageRank is a link analysis algorithm named after the co-founder of Google Larry Page.

PageRank is calculated by the number of incoming links from other websites. The number of links from relevant websites is an important element Google uses to determine the ranking of websites in its results. If a website does not have many links from relevant websites it will usually not come up particularly high in the results of a Google search.

Google’s mission is to provide searchers with relevant information and the existence of links from other relevant pages is a key factor in Google bringing your web page to searcher’s attention. Google’s founders Serge Brin and Larry Page were university academics – when you write an academic paper you need to establish your paper’s credibility by referencing the salient points to other respected academic works. Brin and Page applied this referencing concept to their Google search engine.

At Graphic Alliance we can show you how to improve your PageRank through a quality link-building strategy.
